I also like the composition. With regards to the sun, I'm glad you were following the rule of thirds.
I do, however, think there are many things that can be improved about this shot.
The grain is one thing that bothers me. It makes the photo quality look poor, but it can be easily fixed with some slight blurring.
I find the road sign in the middle of the shot very distracting. I think it looks awkward. I think it just takes away from the landscape. Maybe you took the photo with that in the frame to not make the photo look so boring, but I don't think it's doing much for the photo. If anything, it's taking away from it.
The photo, in general, is pretty. But that's it, pretty. Overall, I find it boring. While most of your techincal aspects are correct, I'm still looking at this shot and going, "So what?" I can see a setting sun anywhere, so what makes this one so special? I think, for improvement, try to make your landscapes look different, with a special touch.
